First responders from Camp Arifjan's Area Support Group-Kuwait Emergency Services as well as Soldiers and other service members from across this remote post in the Kuwaiti desert gathered in the early morning hours of Sept. 11, 2019, to commemorate the lives lost and remember the events of that fateful day 18 years ago. The ceremony included music as well as a guest speaker highlighting the way the United States has rallied and come together in the days since the attacks that left nearly 3,000 people dead.
