FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. -- The 58th Transportation Battalion (Advanced Individual Training) became the 80th Training Command's newest unit at a re-patching ceremony here June 21, 2019.

Once part of the 3rd Chemical Brigade, the 58th TB is an Army Active Duty unit stationed here. The unit now falls underneath the 2nd Brigade, 94th Training Division-Force Sustainment.

By gaining the 58th TB, the 94th TD now becomes a multi-component unit. This enables a total Army approach to 88M Motor Transport Operator AIT and assists in the transformation of the course to better support large-scale ground combat operations.

"As the Army's ready, certified, and accredited total force generator of transportation professionals, we are responsible for training 88-series Soldiers nearly every day of the year," said Col. Keith Barta, commander of the 2nd Brigade, 94th TD.

"Our end state is to have a fully integrated Army transportation training enterprise, ready and fully resourced, to execute our training mission and deliver professional transporters to the operational force," said Barta.
