FORT GORDON, GA. -- The 35th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade held a Change of Command Ceremony, July 19, at the Barton Field Reviewing Stand located here.

Col. Christopher O'Connor, 35th TTSB, outgoing brigade commander, relinquished command of the Lion Brigade to incoming commander Col. Matthew Foulk. The reviewing officer for the ceremony was the XVIII Airborne Corps Deputy Commanding General Maj. Gen. Brian McKiernan.

McKiernan also awarded O'Connor with the Legion of Merit for his valorous serving as the 35th Signal Brigade commander before the change of command ceremony.

During his exit speech O'Connor stated, "Thank you for upholding the legacy and reputation of this brigade every day, before you, in this formation is the combat power to support over 138 battalion and larger command posts for commanders across the XVIII Airborne Corps and our Army. Let there be no doubt, there are other signal brigades and signal commands in the Army, but there's only one Lion Brigade. It has been the honor of a career to command this brigade."

During his incoming speech, Foulk reminisced about Fort Gordon and the reputation of the Lion Brigade stating, "My family and I are beyond excited to be back at Fort Gordon after an almost 20-year absence and are tremendously honored to be here today as we embark on this assignment with the Lion Brigade."

In the past when asked by senior signal leaders what he wanted to do next in his career, Foulk stated, "Without hesitation I would answer, 'I want to command the 35th Signal Brigade!'"

"The reputation of this signal brigade is unparalleled in the signal community and I always want to serve with the best," said Foulk.
