CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait -- Col. Charles Fisher took command of the 401st Army Field Support Brigade during a change of command ceremony, here, June 24.

Fisher said he is proud and honored to command a unit responsible for ensuring Soldiers' material readiness within the U.S. Central Command's area of operation.

"The mission of the 401st Army Field Support Brigade is to integrate and synchronize the Army Materiel Command's resources to three separate named operations: Operation Freedom Sentinel, Operation Inherent Resolve, and Operation Spartan Shield within the CENCOM AOR," said Fisher.

Fisher received command from Col. Jeffrey Niemi, who held the position since June 2018.

Command Sgt. Maj. Dexter Ferguson also transitioned his position to Command Sgt. Maj. Marissa Cisneros.

Presiding over the ceremony was Maj. Gen. Duane Gamble, commanding general, U.S. Army Sustainment Command. The 401st is one of ASC's seven AFSBs.

To mark the transfer of command, Ferguson handed the unit colors to Niemi, who then passed them to Gamble. Gamble continued the rotation to Fisher. With his position as commander established, Fisher then passed the colors to Cisneros for safekeeping.
