Virtual barracks town-hall held for Stewart-Hunter

By Christopher FletcherJune 24, 2019

Senior enlisted leaders on Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield held a barracks virtual-town hall on Facebook, June 6, to put out information regarding issues affecting barracks and gather feedback from Soldiers.

The town hall thread was kept open for comments and feedback through Monday.

Participants raised questions and comments about the charge of quarters and staff duty policies; room occupancy for VOLAR (volunteer army) barracks, security; and the service order process. The town halls allow senior enlisted leaders to collaborate as a team with the Directorate of Public Works and to provide a fully-staffed answers to attendees.

Future in-person town halls are planned, to include a virtual Facebook component, too, to help maximize participation from Soldiers living in the barracks.
