Fort Knox will celebrate the Army's 244th birthday June 14 with a variety of community events throughout the day.

The celebration will kick off with an installation run beginning at 6:10 a.m., which will start and end at Brooks Parade Field. Immediately following the run, an Army Streamer Ceremony will take place from 7:30 to 8 a.m. on Brooks Parade Field.

During the ceremony, all Army campaigns fought throughout its existence will be recognized, and corresponding streamers will be attached to the Army flag.

At 5 p.m., a traditional Army birthday cake cutting will take place at Sadowski Center on Wilson Road. Ohio Valley Wresting will end the day's events with wrestling matches -- free to all Soldiers, veterans, retirees, DoD civilians, DoD contractors and their families -- at Sadowski Center from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The general public is invited to attend any of the day's events. Off-post community members wishing to participate in the run should form up next to the Garrison/U.S. Army Cadet Command signs on Brooks Parade field prior to the start of the race.
