Award-winning author Bryan Gruley will visit Fort Knox's Barr Memorial Library at noon June 3 as part of the Authors at Your Library program, where he will introduce his latest novel, Bleak Harbor, and sign autographs for fans.
In Bleak Harbor, summer means tourists and the beloved Dragonfly Festival. But things are not as idyllic as they seem in the small town. One day before the festival, Danny Peters -- the youngest scion of the family that founded the town -- disappears. The only clues his parents have are a photo of him tied to a chair and the messages threatening to reveal long-hidden secrets that won't stop coming.
Gruley is an award-winning journalist who was part of the Wall Street Journal team that won the Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He currently works for Bloomberg Businessweek.
Gruley also wrote the Starvation Lake trilogy. His debut novel, Starvation Lake, was an Edgar Award finalist, and it also won Anthony, Barry and Strand awards. He lives in Chicago with his wife.
The event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase.
