The 14th annual Hooray for Heroes military/first responder appreciation event will take place in Radcliff along Walmart Way, between Stithton Baptist Church and Walmart, May 18 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
All service members, veterans, first responders and their family members with proper identification will be honored with a free meal. The event will also feature free amusements for children, horse rides, military vehicle displays and nearly 100 booths offering information, swag and door prizes.
Free entertainment will be provided by The Wulfe Brothers band.
A special recognition ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. to honor veterans of the Global War on Terrorism. Sign-ups will take place on the day of the event for those veterans who wish to participate in the ceremony.
Officials encourage the Fort Knox community to attend and share the day with members of the surrounding communities.
