The XVIII Airborne Corps and the Corps' chaplain section hosted a Strong Bonds Single Retreat earlier in 2019, focusing on the seven habits of highly effective people. Roughly 20 single Soldiers attended the event, hosted by Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Steven W. Balmer and Master Sgt. Neil Hertzler, religious affairs noncommissioned officer, both assigned to XVIII Airborne Corps.

The event was hosted at Camp Rockfish in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The Strong Bonds Single Soldier program is designed to help single Soldiers establish relationship goals and gain essential skills to help Soldiers make a good choice prior to picking a partner for life, according to the Stong Bonds website at https://strongbonds.jointservicessupport.org/
