Fort Knox officials are publishing a poster at various times for National Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month throughout April to remind personnel to look out for the well-being of military children.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that one in four children have experienced abuse or neglect at some point in their lives. In 2017 alone, child protective services across the United States identified approximately 674,000 children as victims of child abuse or neglect.

To get involved if you have concerns or know of a child that is being neglected or abused, contact the Family Advocacy Program at (502) 624-6291, the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline at (800) 422-4453, or Military OneSource at (800) 342-9647.
