ANSBACH, Germany -- Soldiers, civilians and family members of U.S. Army Health Clinic Ansbach gathered to welcome its new commander during a change of command ceremony, March 8, at the Von Steuben Community Center at Bismarck Kaserne.
Col. Mark Swofford, commander of the U.S. Army Medical Department Activity Bavaria, presided over the ceremony during which Col. Burke Bristow relinquished command of the U.S. Army Health Clinic Ansbach to Lt. Col. Daniel Cash after serving as its commander for the past 20 months.
Cash takes command of USAHC Ansbach that provides health services and force health protection to major commands, organizations and family members across the Ansbach military community.
In addition, USAHC Ansbach has a special mission of supporting the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade and a rotational aviation brigade, United States Army Europe's only combat aviation capability.
Cash, a board-certified family medicine physician, comes to USAHC Ansbach well experienced to command. Cash recently served at Kenner Army Health Clinic at Fort Lee, VA. where he was the chief of Primary Care services, followed by an assignment as the deputy commander for Clinical Services.
Upon relinquishing command, Bristow and his wife, Kimberly, now head to San Antonio, Texas where his next duty assignment will be at Regional Health Command-Central where he will serve as that organization's next Inspector General.
The U.S. Army Health Clinic (USAHC) Ansbach is located approximately 60 kilometers southwest of Nürnberg in the Mittelfranken region, southwest corner of Bavaria. The USAHC Ansbach provides quality ambulatory care service to more than 4,500 Soldiers, contactors, civilians and family members, while coordinating and facilitating inpatient and specialty care with nearby German host nation medical treatment facilities.
