CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- In late January, Lt. Col. Jeffrey J. Ignatowski, Letterkenny Munitions Center Commander, spoke to approximately 60 students at St. Mary Catholic School in Hagerstown, Maryland.

St. Mary Catholic School invited Ignatowski, along with several other professionals, to present at their Career Day during Catholic Schools Week. At the school, he spoke to four groups of sixth-through-eighth grade students about his U.S. Army career as well as about the opportunities and types of careers available to Army civilians at LEMC.

Ignatowski focused on engineering and improvements made to Army assets and maintenance of the assets, which intrigued the students. The students were engaged and enjoyed the presentation and LEMC's video. They were surprised to learn about LEMC's mission and current activities within the organization and asked many questions during the question and answer sessions. In addition to questions regarding working for the Army and LEMC, multiple students asked questions related to engineering and missile systems modifications.

"Presenting what Letterkenny Munitions Center delivers to not only the Warfighter, but also our local community, to this group of students was awesome," said Ignatowski. "These students are our future engineers, technical experts, and potential service members. Hearing their comments and ideas was really great!"

St. Mary Catholic School, located in Hagerstown, Maryland under the Archdiocese of Baltimore, is a private school providing Catholic education to pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

LEMC is located on Letterkenny Army Depot and conducts regional and global distribution of munitions, provides missile maintenance, and conducts demilitarization of munitions for the U.S. Army in support of Joint Forces and international partner nations.
