Author Chris Formant will visit Fort Knox's Barr Memorial Library on Tuesday, March 5, at noon as part of the Authors at Your Library program.

The book, "Saving Washington: The Forgotten Story of the Maryland 400 and the Battle of Brooklyn," follows two young men who enlist in the Maryland militia. They march to New York with only a minimum of training. Their mission: to prevent the British from taking Brooklyn Heights. This little-known battle would help turn the tide of the Revolutionary War and ensure the birth of the United States.

Formant, a student of history, is a former top executive of a multibillion dollar global business and an early-stage investor in technology. His first book, Bright Midnight, received numerous accolades. Formant splits his time between Maryland and Arizona.

The event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase.
