Command Sergeant Major Jason M. Hathaway is a native of Port St. Joe, Florida and enlisted in the Army in August 1993 as a Military Policeman. He attended basic training and advanced individual training at Fort McClellan, Alabama.

Command Sergeant Major Hathaway has served as a MP Gunner, MP Driver, Team Leader, Dog Trainer, Patrol/Explosive Detector Dog Handler, Squad Leader, Military Working Dog (MWD) Plans NCO, Instructor, Kennel Master, Platoon Sergeant, Course Chief, MWD Program Manager (ASCC), MWD Program Manager (ACOM), Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant, Provost Sergeant Major, and MWD Program Manager (HQDA). He is currently the Camp Casey Garrison Command Sergeant Major.

Command Sergeant Major Hathaway's stateside assignments include Fort Riley, Kansas (977th MP Company), Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland Air Force Base, Texas (D. Company, 701st MP BN), Fort Eustis, Virginia (HQ, TRADOC), and the Pentagon (OPMG). His overseas assignments include Johnston Island (USACAP MP Company), Camp Zama, Japan (88th MP Company), and Fort Shafter, Hawaii (HQ, USARPAC). He has deployed to Cuba and Afghanistan for combat and peacekeeping operations.

Command Sergeant Major Hathaway's military education includes Military Police School, Warrior Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, MWD Handlers Course, MWD Supervisors Course, Basic Instructor Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Conventional Physical Security/ Crime Prevention Course, Anti-Terrorism Basic Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, First Sergeant Course, Master Resiliency Course, the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 66, and the Garrison Pre-Command Course. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Wayland Baptist University and a Master of Science in Management Degree from the University of Maryland University College.

Command Sergeant Major Hathaway's awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (6-OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2-OLC), Air Force Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (1-OLC), Good Conduct Medal (7th award), National Defense Service Medal (Bronze Star), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (with numeral 5), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (with numeral 3), Coast Guard Special Operations Service Ribbon, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Drivers Badge, and the Army Staff Identification Badge. CSM Hathaway has also been awarded the coveted Order of the Marechaussee.

Command Sergeant Major Hathaway is married to Laura Hathaway and they have three children: Blake, Adam and Joshua.
