USAG-YONGSAN, Korea -- Daniel Minjun Kim is the first baby of the New Year born at Brian Allgood Army Community Hospital.

The 7 pound 15 ounce, 20.87 inch baby boy, born 5:54 a.m. on Jan 2, is the second child of Sgt. 1st Class, Tae Kyung Kim, BAACH Emergency Room noncomissed officer in charge, and his wife Geunhwa Kim.

Col. Andrew L. Landers, BAACH commander; Command Sgt. Maj. Nicole M. Haines, hospital command sergeant major; and Col. Editha D. Ruiz, deputy commander for nursing, paid a visit to the Women Infant Care Unit on Jan. 3 to celebrate the birth of Daniel with the Kim family.

Sgt. 1st Class Kim shared how special it was to have his baby born in the hospital that he is working.

"I can't wait to tell Daniel when he grows up that he was born in the hospital his father was working" said Kim. "My wife and I felt very comfortable giving birth to Daniel here at BAACH because I know how high quality and genuine care we try our best to provide to the patients every day in this hospital."

Daniel is a healthy newborn and is now home with his new family.
