Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday observance scheduled for Jan. 11

Fort Knox's Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday observance is scheduled to take place at Sadowski Center, located on Wilson Road, Jan. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This year's theme is "Remember! Celebrate! Act! A Day On, Not A Day Off!" U.S. Army Recruiting Command Deputy Commanding General of Operations Brig. Gen. Kevin Vereen will host the ceremony, and Maj. Gen. (ret.) Barrye Price, former deputy commanding general of U.S. Army Cadet Command, will serve as the keynote speaker.

The event will feature singing performances and informational displays. Refreshments and a food samplings will be provided following the observance.
