JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. -- Soldiers from Army Public Health Center (APHC), Public Health Command-Pacific (PHC-P) and 1848th Medical Detachment (PM) received comprehensive technical training on conducting Occupational and Environmental Health Surveillance (OEHS) in a deployed environment from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2.

This training included recording scientific data to document "all-hazard" exposures, such as chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) events. The Deployment Support/Technical Assistance Visit also included OEHS of water, food, air and soil, as well as deployment-related training to help soldiers understand the protection warfighting function, force health protection and force development in a theater operation.
