CAMP HIGASHI-CHITOSE, Japan-- Soldiers from America's First Corps and the Japan Northern Army joined together to raise their nations' flags in unison during Yama Sakura 75 at Camp Higashi-Chitose, Hokkaido, Japan, Dec 11, 2018.
The ceremony symbolized the cooperation and joint effort of American and Japanese forces throughout Yama Sakura.
Yama Sakura, which translates to mountain cherry blossom, is a bilateral training exercise that strengthens America's alliance with the Japan Ground Self Defense Force and commitment to assisting in keeping the region secure.
