Local Chicago-land high school honors its veterans

U.S. Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Kris A. Belanger, Commanding General, 85th Support Command, was the keynote speaker for the event and attended with veterans from each of the service branches to include World War II veteran, Al Mampre, who served with the famed 101st Airborne Division's Easy Company, 506th Infantry Regiment. Mampre's unit story was featured on the mini-series "Band of Brothers". Belanger also participated in a panel discussion with veterans sharing their stories and answering questions from the students about service. More than 2,000 students, faculty, veterans, and local community members attended the 5-hour event.
