ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT, Ala. -- Seven members of the United Cherokee Ani-Yun-Wiya Nation, located in Guntersville, Ala., participated in Anniston Army Depot's National American Indian Heritage Month luncheon Nov. 13 at the Berman Varner House.

Art Wade, an elder for the tribe, and Dewayne Long, the tribe's drum keeper, spoke briefly to the crowd before turning the event over to a drum circle and Tom Burke, who played songs on two different flutes - a river cane flute and a cedar flute.
