VICENZA, Italy (October 26, 2018) -- Following are some events and activities offered by USAG Italy Family and MWR.

ENTERTAINMENT & TRIPS

Gardaland Halloween

Oct. 28, 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.

ODR, Caserma Ederle

With Halloween right around the corner, join Outdoor Recreation for a day at Gardaland. The park dons a spooky look and fills with ghosts, ghouls, witches and monsters that will give visitors a fright. Don a costume and have some fun. By traveling with ODR, participants will avoid long drives, slow traffic, paid parking, less gas and pesky tolls. On this trip, travel to Gardaland by bus. Entry into the park will be covered so visitors will be free to enjoy the day.

Sunday Night Football

Oct. 28 and Nov. 4, 11, 18 & 25, 7-10 p.m.

Warrior Zone, Caserma Del Din

Head to the Warrior Zone on Sunday nights and root for your favorite team. Kick back in the lounge area while enjoying hot food and cool drinks. Takes place every Sunday until the Super Bowl (Feb. 3, 2019).Watch your favorite teams go the distance on the big screens.

Warrior Zone Halloween Party

Oct. 31, 7 p.m.

Warrior Zone, Caserma Del Din

The Warrior Zone invites one and all (including local nationals) for a Halloween party with some country western twisted in. Ages 18 and older will be able to enjoy a night of fun. Enjoy country music, dancing, a costume party and competition. The winner of the competition will receive a 50 percent discount on any sandwich purchase.

Adriatic Sea Fishing

Nov. 3, 5 a.m., $88

ODR, Caserma Ederle

See what it's like to fish on a charter fishing boat. The boat will anchor off of a known fishing area and stay stationary for several hours while participants fish for 3-6 lb. mackerel. The trick for this type of fishing is to set your hook at the proper depth and be ready for when you feel a strike. Outdoor Recreation can promise you a fun day with fresh air on the sea, but cannot guarantee that you will catch fish. This type of fishing requires patience and attention to detail. Destination: Chioggia.

Maserati and Ducati Tour

Nov. 3, 6 a.m.-9 p.m., $85

ODR, Caserma Ederle

Tour the most prestigious Italian sports car and motorbike manufacturers: Maserati and Ducati. We will tour the Maserati factory then see the Maserati collection on display in the Panini Museum. Founded by the brothers Maserati and maintained by Omar Orsi, the Maserati collection includes 23 cars. Afterward, visitors will take a guided tour along the factory floor of the Ducati facility followed by a visit to the Ducati Museum. The Ducati Museum houses 45 motorcycles and will transport you back through all the glorious moments in the history of this legendary brand.

World War I Hike

Nov. 10, 7 a.m.-5 p.m., $55

Join Outdoor Rec for an adventurous and educational ascent up Monte Vezzena in the Dolomite Mountains. The trip includes hikes to visit two World War I forts, covering approximately 14 km (8.5 miles) and 500 meters (1650 feet) of elevation gain. Along the way, the group will discuss some of the history of the area while enjoying the beautiful natural setting. Drive time from Vicenza is approximately 1 1/2 hours to reach the parking destination at Hotel Vezzena. The trip is an out-and-back, approximately two to three hours and 7 km of steadily uphill to the summit. Pack a lunch to enjoy at the peak along with the stunning panorama view.

American Cemetery and Memorial in Florence

Nov. 11, 6 a.m.-10 p.m., $95/$57

ODR, Caserma Ederle

Join Outdoor Recreation as we make our way to Florence. While there we'll visit the American Cemetery and Memorial site, a location that covers more than 70 acres with tall, wooded hills framing its western perimeter. A bridge leads you to the burials where 4,402 of American military are buried on the hillside. The memorial has two courts joined by the tablets of the missing, naming 1,409 names. Following the visit to the memorial, the group will head to the beautiful Renaissance city of Florence, which is filled with historical relics and artistic masterpieces. Enjoy free time to view its marvelous churches, buildings and museums that make this city so unique.

Music Café

Nov. 16, 7:30-11 p.m.

Soldiers' Theatre, Caserma Ederle

Music Café nights are casual improv jam nights for music lovers by music lovers. Great music and amazing community talent await. Entry is free and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Roman Colosseum in Pula, Croatia

Nov. 17, 5 a.m.-11 p.m., $85/$50

ODR, Caserma Ederle

With the cooler weather and the majority of tourists now gone, visit one of Croatia's many beautiful cities. The Roman Colosseum will be one of the many things this tour will include in Pula. From ancient statues to the Golden Gate Arch, Pula has many sights to see and many things to do. After a guided tour of the city, enjoy free time to explore on your own and get something to eat. Tourist passport needed.

Caving the Buso della Rana

Nov. 17, 5 a.m.-11 p.m., $95

Head underground to explore the dark tunnels of the Veneto's largest cave system.

Thanksgiving Lunch at Castello Bevilacqua

Nov. 22, 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m., $95/$67

All ages are welcome. Enjoy a wonderful holiday lunch with a short historical tour in an authentic castle. Dress is business casual. Bring your appetite and a camera!

Asiago Cheese Factory

Nov. 24, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., $50/$35/$25

ODR, Caserma Ederle

See how Asiago Cheese is made and aged in one of the many cheese factories in Asiago. After touring and tasting the cheeses made in this "Malga," participants will have an opportunity to buy cheese fresh from the factory.

CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

English as a 2nd Language

Oct. 31 and Nov. 7, 14, 21 & 28, 2-4 p.m.

English as a Second Language introduces clients to the funda-mentals of the English language. Participants can enjoy learning and speaking basic English together.

Anger Management Class

Nov. 6, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

All community members are eligible to participate in anger management classes. The class will help you understand what anger can do to your body, how to recognize anger warning signs and what to do when you get angry.

Creative Journaling

Nov. 6, 1:30-3 p.m., $5 per class

Arts & Crafts Center, Caserma Ederle

Develop a deeper connection with your creative self through journaling! Let loose and explore with colors, shapes, lines, and your words all at once. Participants can expect to learn how to document their days and feelings in a creative way and become familiar with basic tools and tips to use during journaling. Class is limited to eight people; register early.

Brews & Brushes at the Arena

Nov. 6, 6:30-9 p.m., $25

Lion's Den (upstairs in the Arena), Caserma Ederle

Simple step by step instructions will guide you through painting with acrylics on a 30x40cm canvas. Instruction and high quality acrylic paint and brushes will be provided by the Vicenza Art Center. Every participant will walk away with a completed canvas at the end of the evening. All materials are included. Don't miss out on participating in one of the most requested events on post. Register in advance at the Arts & Crafts Center or on WebTrac. Please note: If minimum registration is not met two days prior to the class, the class will be cancelled.

Infant Massage Class

Bringing Baby Home

Smooth Move PCS Brief

Baby Wearing Wrap-up

Nov. 29, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Everyone is welcome, whether you are expecting or you already have a baby or even a toddler. This class will teach you about the practice of baby wearing, whether you choose to use a sling or another type of carrier, so you and your baby can enjoy the maximum benefits of closeness.

FITNESS & SPORTS

Staff vs. Youth Basketball

Turkey Trot 5K

Track & Field, Caserma Ederle

Get ready for some gobble with this year's 5K Turkey Trot! The race is happening on Saturday, November 17 starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Ederle Track & Field. Cost is $15 and includes a raffle entry fee, in addition to a t-shirt. Strollers and dogs permitted, and registration is available at the Ederle Fitness Center. BOSS Midnight Games: Dodgeball

Oct. 31, 7 p.m.

Fitness Center, Caserma Del Din

Join BOSS and Sports, Fitness and Aquatics for this fun-filled Halloween tournament, guaranteed to get the adrenaline pumping. This tournament matches teams of 5 players each who will be competing for the title of "Halloween Vicenza Champions." All games will be refereed; maximum of eight teams; maximum of five players per team; single elimination (15-minute games); dress up and win prizes; and trophies for first and second place. Register and the Ederle or Del Din Fitness centers by close of business Oct. 30.

The Ederle and Del Din fitness centers have plenty of great classes to help everyone get in shape. Open to all skill levels. Classes include Zumba, cycling, taekwondo, yoga, power pump and many more. Self-defense classes are $12 per class/$70 for monthly pass.
