FORT BRAGG, N.C. - Sgt. Maj. Peter Running, the former command sergeant major of United States Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne), received a legion of merit for his time as senior enlisted leader Oct. 20 at the USACAPOC(A) headquarters on Fort Bragg.

Running left his position at USACAPOC(A) to become the senior enlisted advisor for Lt. Gen. Charles Luckey's Commander's Action Group at the Office of the Chief of the Army Reserve in Washington, D.C.

Running said even though he has moved to a new job, he is still tied to the command "heart and soul."

Maj. Gen. Darrell Guthrie, USACAPOC(A) commanding general, said Running left his mark.

"He brought incredible stability to our non-commissioned officer corps," he said. Running served under two commanding generals, Guthrie and Maj. Gen. Daniel R. Ammerman.
