The fall Joint Base Lewis-McChord Ammunition Amnesty Day will be held Thursday, Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. near the C-5 Mock-Up on Lewis Main.

All military services are encouraged to come to the amnesty event to bring unused or used rounds with no questions asked, no investigation, no fear of prosecution and no required paperwork.

Ammunition Amnesty Day takes place twice per year in conjunction with the annual installation cleanup weeks in the fall and the spring. Ammunition is traditionally collected on a weekday to give units cleaning training areas a chance to bring in ammo they found.

Although Ammunition Amnesty Days are hosted just twice per year, there are six ammunition amnesty boxes on JBLM that that can be used during normal duty days and hours:

• Ammunition Supply Point parking lot, Lewis Main;

• Jecelin Avenue at Range 2, Lewis Main;

• Ranger Motor Pool, Mastin Avenue, Third and Fourth Division Drive, Lewis Main;

• Wash rack on corner of Slone and South 20th Street, Lewis Main;

• Corner of A and 17th streets, Lewis North;

• Wash rack on corner of A Street and Eighth Avenue, Lewis North.
