Fort Leonard Wood is scheduled to celebrate the 77th birthday of the U.S. Army Military Police Corps as they hold their 2018 Regimental Week Sept. 24 through 29.

The theme of this year's regimental week is "Valor in Action."

"The purpose of regimental week is to celebrate the proud history of the Military Police Corps," said Brig. Gen. Brian Bisacre, U.S. Army Military Police School commandant. "It is important that we take this time to honor our past and present so we may have a strong grasp on the future of our regiment."

The corps will kick off their 77th anniversary celebration with the Regimental Memorial Tribute at 9 a.m. Sept. 24 in Memorial Grove. The ceremony is dedicated to honoring fallen military police Soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Following the tribute, MPs past and present, along with civilian law enforcement, family and friends of the MP Corps, are invited to participate in a Regimental Ride at noon. The ride focuses on motorcycle safety and esprit de corps. Cost for the ride is $25.

On Sept. 25, the MPs will cast their lines at 5:30 a.m. at the Lake of the Ozarks for their Regimental Bass Tournament. Cost per boat is $20.

Also taking place that day beginning at 7:30 a.m., is the Military Police Spouses Challenge "Order of the Cross Pistols" taking place at Training Area 98 and Stem Village. Cost is $5.60 for lunch and $18 for a T-shirt.

A Regimental Run is slated to begin at 5:30 a.m. Sept. 26 on Gammon Field. Civilians and retirees are welcome to participate and will be placed information upon arrival. Following the run, a cake cutting ceremony will take place with remarks by Bisacre.

Later that morning, at 10 a.m., the Regimental Trap Shoot will take place at the Outdoor Adventure Center. This event requires five-person teams and the cost is $14 per competitor.

The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is slated to take place at noon Sept. 27 in Lincoln Hall Auditorium. This ceremony honors the year's outstanding MPs and inducts them into the Military Police Hall of Fame. Following the ceremony, the photo unveiling will take place at the John B. Mahaffey Museum Complex.

A Regimental Retreat is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. that same day. All brigades and units within the regiment will be recognized on MSCoE Plaza during this time.

MPs hit the greens Sept. 28 for the Regimental Golf Retreat at the Pine Valley Golf Course at 9 a.m. Pre-registration is required. The cost is $60.

The activities conclude Sept. 29 with the annual Regimental Ball slated for 6 p.m. at Nutter Field House. Social hour begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are required for this event.
