Fort A.P. Hill paused today to remember those lost during the attacks on America on Sept. 11, 2001. Garrison Commander Lt. Col. Michael E. Gates spoke briefly of the sacrifices and losses that day and in the years that followed. Gates urged everyone to remember and honor those we lost and their families. Gates and Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Joseph Reilly placed a wreath to honor the fallen. The ceremony concluded with the playing of "Taps" by Sgt. 1st. Class Matthew Byrne of the U.S. Army Band.
