REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. - The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command's White Elephant Sale raised more than $800 May 7 here for the Army Emergency Relief Campaign.

Employees and sponsors donated a wide variety of items to include cookware, collectible memorabilia, chocolate baskets, and gift certificates. Participants were able to handwrite bids on the items throughout the day. The winning bids were announced to an anxious crowd at 1 p.m. The AER Campaign began March 1 and ends May 31.

AER has been the Army's emergency financial assistance organization since February 1942. AER has helped more than three million Soldiers and Family members providing more than $1 billion in assistance. Many needs exist that this one campaign helps to meet throughout the year.
