Tobyhanna performs depot-level repairs on Army detection system

Michael Marsh, electronics worker, updates software and repairs hardware on the AN/VSS-6A Husky Mounted Detection System (HMDS) mission computer. Tobyhanna Army Depot was recently designated the Depot Source of Repair for nine components on the Army's counter-improvised explosive device system. The HMDS is designed to be installed on Husky vehicles and provides Soldiers with enhanced capabilities to detect improvised explosive devices. Tobyhanna partnered with Product Manager Counter Explosive Hazard at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, to establish overhaul and repair capability. Sustainment of the HMDS will be transitioned in phases with full organic capability expected by fiscal year 2021. Depot employees are using test equipment provided by the original equipment manufacturer to develop this C4ISR skill set to meet customer requirements. Marsh is assigned to the C4ISR Directorate's Sensors Division.
