KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany -- U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz's Headquarters, Headquarters Company welcomed a new commander during a change of command ceremony at Rhine Ordnance Barracks, July 3.

Capt. Stephanie R. Correa accepted command from Capt. Willie L. Franklin, who was selected for the Logistics Corps' Training with Industry program as a 2018 Fellow with FedEx International.

Today's Army calls for commanders at all levels to integrate mission and support functions, ensuring Soldiers, employees and family members remain ready and resilient, said Col. Keith E. Igyarto, USAG RP commander and ceremony reviewing officer.

"This is not always easy, especially in a time of limited resources, constant restructuring and high operations tempo. But our HHC commanders always find ways to accomplish the mission in spite of the challenges. Captain Franklin, you have been the kind of commander I have just described, one who understands Soldiers, families, and readiness," Igyarto said of the outgoing commander.

"Captain Correa, I'm excited that you are here and look forward to the things we'll be able to accomplish together," Igyarto said. "With your experience at the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, I know the HHC is in good hands, and together our garrison will continue to reach new levels of excellence. So, I extend a hearty welcome to you and your family."

Correa attended Interamerican University where she received a Reserve Officers Training Corps scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education. During her military career, she served in several capacities to include distribution platoon leader, accountable officer, assistant battalion operations officer and executive officer for the 603rd Aviation Battalion. Correa also served as a brigade assistant logistics officer for the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade and more recently as an operations officer for the 21st Theater Sustainment Command.

"It's truly a great honor, and I am very humbled to join the ranks as your company commander. There are many similarities in the Army. Everywhere you go, there is the same discipline and the same regulations," said Correa, a native of Puerto Rico. "Having said that, there is no doubt that every Soldier is different. I have just as much to learn about you as you have to learn about me. We are in this together, and we will go the extra mile for each other. Stay Ready! Panther Six signing on!"
