FORT RILEY, Kansas -- Senior Leaders, assigned to Headquarters Support Company, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, join Soldiers, assigned to the Commanding Generals Mounted Color Guard, for an esprit de corps and team building Barnyard Physical Training session at the CGMCG stables on Fort Riley, Kansas, May 17, 2018. The PT session was designed to build camaraderie within the unit ranks.
"It's always great when leaders interact with their Soldiers, especially during PT hour. It shows them that we are willing to embrace the suck along with them. It demonstrates that just because we are higher ranking than they are, doesn't mean that we don't get tired or hurt like they do," said Command Sgt. Maj. Tresia Huell, the senior enlisted advisor for Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. "Building esprit de corps is the best motivation for teamwork and camaraderie. Being leaders is about giving a listening ear, counseling and providing that extra push to go the extra mile or finishing hard on their last sprint."
