ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY, ARLINGTON, Va. (May 7, 2018)--The Army Nurse Corps and representatives of nurses of other military services observed National Nurses Week during a wreath-laying ceremony Monday, May 7, at Arlington National Cemetery. Col. Melissa Hoffman, Deputy Chief of the Army Nurse Corps, was mistress of ceremonies. Keynote remarks were provided by Maj. Gen. Dorothy Hogg, Air Force Deputy Surgeon General and Chief, Air Force Nurse Corps. Maj. Gen. Hogg, Rear Adm. Tina Davidson (Director Navy Nurse Corps), Col. Hoffman, Capt. Leo Saligan (Public Health Service), and Dr. Carol Romano (ret. Public Health Service) placed the wreath. During the ceremony, Romano said, "Nurses are on the frontline of protecting, promoting and advancing the health and safety of our nation. Nurses are the heroes of health who dare to care."
