Fort Rucker, AL-- Soldiers from C Company, 67th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, 35th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade, deployed in support of the 1-58th Airfield Operations Battalion. A team of eight Soldiers provided Single Shelter Switch (SSS) communications services to 1-58th AOB as they qualified their air traffic control operators during their annual qualification training from 20-28 April , 2018.

C Company's support was integral to 1-58th AOB in providing communications to their control tower operators during training. The SSS allowed for Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router/ Secret Internet Protocol Router (NIPR/SIPR) data and voice communications. Through SIPR lines, 1-58th AOB had the capability to dispatch North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) within the Area of Operations.

Furthermore, two C Company Soldiers were awarded for their exceptional work ethic while establishing and maintaining NIPR/SIPR services, to include training 1-58th communications Soldiers. Spc. Jordan Owens, the primary SSS Operator, received an Army Achievement Medal (AAM) and PV2 Thomas Cubbedge received a Battalion Coin.

The 67th Expeditionary Signal Battalion strives to provide distinguished customer service in its support missions. Soldiers have demonstrated selfless service while supporting other units and exceeding standards demonstrated through their work ethic. When called upon, 67th ESB stands ready to deploy and engage in support of our military units.
