General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital Outpatient Infusion Service is here to help with all your infusion needs.

The Outpatient Infusion Services, now located on the 5th floor in Room 41 on 5C, provides IV medication for those who have Crohn's Disease, irritable bowel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune disorders. In addition, they provide normal saline and iron infusions as well as blood transfusions. PICC line and port care are also offered.

The new location on the fifth floor is a comfortable space for patients with ample seating and excellent views of Fort Leonard Wood.

"We are trying to get the word out so that patients who have been driving all the way to Rolla or The Lake and paying out of pocket costs can instead just come upstairs and get the infusions they need in a location that is more convenient to them," said Capt. Katie Platz, a registered nurse at GLWACH.

If a patient is discharged from the hospital and still needs six weeks of IV antibiotics they can come to the clinic every day and get their antibiotics.

A patient must have a referral from their primary care provider prior to scheduling an appointment with Infusion Services. Once a patient has been referred, Infusion Services staff will call the patient and schedule the first appointment. Additionally after an appointment, the staff are able to schedule any follow up appointments.

Outpatient Infusion Services is open Monday through Friday with the first appointment at 8 a.m. and the last starting at 3 p.m. For more information call 573-596-6173.
