COLONEL KIMBERLY A. PEEPLES

Colonel Kimberly Peeples is a native of Akron, Ohio. She graduated from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y. and was commissioned into the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1994.

Col. Peeples has served at various levels of command and staff positions throughout her career. She began her career at Fort Hood, Texas, as an Engineer Bridge Platoon Leader in the 74th Engineer Company, followed as a Vertical Construction Platoon Leader in Alpha Company, 62nd Engineer Battalion (Combat Heavy). She was then assigned back to the 74th Engineer Company as the Executive Officer and deployed in support of Operation Joint Endeavor (Bosnia) from October 1996 to May 1997.

Col. Peeples commanded Bravo Company, 864th Engineer Company, Fort Lewis, Wa. Following command and graduate school, she was assigned as a Project Engineer, Fort Leonard Wood Area Office, then Program Manager, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, Kansas City, Mo. During this assignment, she deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from March 2003 to August 2003.

In July 2006, Col. Peeples was assigned as Brigade Engineer of the 4th Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga. The Brigade deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom during the surge from October 2007 to December 2008. In the last six months of the deployment, she served as the Deputy Team Leader for the Brigade's Embedded Provincial Reconstruction Team. Upon return, Colonel Peeples was assigned as a Program Manager in the White House Military Office from April 2009 to April 2013.

Col. Peeples joined the installation management community in May 2013 as the commander of the U.S. Army Garrison Carlisle Barracks, Pa. Following command, she was assigned as a student at the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks and graduated in the class of 2016.

In her most recent assignment, Col. Peeples served at the Pentagon as the Deputy Director for Operations for the U.S. Army Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management. In this role, she supported the Director of Operations with development and coordination of program requirements, strategy and policies pertaining to installation readiness, facility management, military construction, energy, real property asset management and Base Realignment and Closure.

Col. Peeples' military education includes the Engineer Officer Basic Course, the Air Defense Artillery Advanced Course, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College. She holds a master's degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington in Seattle and a master's degree from the U.S. Army War College in Strategic Studies.

Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Joint Service Achievement Medal. She is also a recipient of the General Douglas MacArthur Army Leadership Award.
