BAGHDAD - One of the largest bulldozers in the military arsenal, the D-9, being driven by Command Sgt. Maj. Joe Major of the 225th Engineer Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, pushes debris around Sather Airbase, located on Victory Base Complex, April 27. U.S. engineers, with the assistance of the Government of Iraq, plan to expand the facilities at the Sather Airbase to handle the projected increase of commercial air traffic in the upcoming years.

Salinas, from Victoria, Texas, showed Major how to operate the large piece of machinery while clearing debris around Sather Airbase on Victory Base Complex April 27.  "I have driven a lot of dozers in my time," said Major who has more than 30-years in the National Guard. "Like the D-7 and D-8, but nothing as big as the D-9. It was an experience."
