Are you looking to improve your education, or are you looking to make yourself more marketable once you hang up your uniform for good? Army Continuing Education System has services that can help.
According to Veronica Fields-Cox education services officer with Fort Jackson's ACES office said they offer counseling, testing and have four on-post schools.
"We have counseling services to assist Soldiers, spouses and adult Family members in establishing realistic long and short range educational goals, help attain those goals and identifying needs through counseling on appropriate ACES programs and services."
The counselors are available for group educational briefings.
"We offer Army personnel testing, or APT, and test of adult basic Education. Also, through our National Testing Center; we offer the College Level Examination Program, DANTES Subject Standardized Tests exams.
Information can also be found at ACES for four on-post schools to include school representatives and evening classes at the education center. They are:
1) Midlands Technical College; associates degree programs in Applied Science-Criminal Justice Technology and Associate in Applied Science-Management. For more information contact Michelle Cannon, director of military programs, Fort Jackson Campus, at 803-782-3213.
2) University of South Carolina - Various associates degrees including Associate of Science Degree and Bachelor of Arts in Experimental Psychology. For more information call 803-782-8810.

4) Webster University - The only graduate school on the installation has eight master's degree programs in Business Administration; Business Administration Information Technology; Business of Administration Management and Leadership; Business and Organizational Security Management;

"Our general technical Improvement or basic skills enhancement classes offer academic instruction to improve basic reading, mathematics and writing skills," Fields-Cox said. "Soldiers can use this instruction to increase their GT score for reenlistment or changing their MOS. Spouses and adult Family members (on a space available basis) can enroll in preparation for the general education diploma or college."
Instruction is offered in the traditional class format or through an on-line program.
