Gen. Stephen Townsend, commander of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, visited Fort Jackson for the first time since taking over the organization that leads Army training efforts March 2. Townsend was escorted by Maj. Gen. Pete Johnson, Fort Jackson commander, as he toured various

parts of the installation including the 3rd Battalion, 60th Infantry Regiment, where he witnessed an in-ranks inspection. He also visited the 120th Adjutant General Battalion (Reception) and Basic Combat Training units conducting the Forge.
