REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (Feb. 7, 2018) -- Amanda Compton is a program analyst for the Human Resource Office at the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center. She is the program manager for all students programs for AMRDEC.

"I participate in various college career fairs working with AMRDEC managers to ensure that have the correct information needed for recruiting events," said Compton. "I also work with the U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command at larger recruiting events such as BEYA and HENAAC ensuring that AMRDEC has representation."

Compton also serves as the telework managing officer for the AMRDEC, which involves ensuring all telework packages are maintained and instructions are available for the workforce. She works on various Integrated Product Teams within AMRDEC and RDECOM providing input and support.

Compton said she feels through her various roles she supports the Army's top three priorities, Readiness, Future Force, Taking Care of Army employees.

"By helping build the bench we ensure readiness," Compton said. "I support the future force by recruiting and hiring employees, who in turn provide innovative technology and expertise to the Warfighter in the field. And lastly, I take care of Army employees through processing personnel actions to ensure our workforce is paid and maintained."

"What I like most about my job is the opportunity I have to work and support managers at recruiting events," said Compton. "I started working for AMRDEC as a summer hire when I was 19 years old, progressed to a co-op, and then a local intern. Now, after ten years with the organization, I value the opportunities I was given and find it so rewarding when we are able to hire young employees to help build our bench."

There are several things that inspire Compton at her job. "I love when we are able to get an employee on board and when we figure out the way to correct a problem. I feel inspired at work when I feel appreciated."

Compton holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources from Athens State University. She is married to Jason and has two sons, Landon and Austin.

"Between soccer, basketball, and baseball we are always on the go," Compton said. "When we have time I enjoy traveling, especially the beach!"
