The 2017 Beneficiary Counseling and Assistance Coordinator (BCAC) of the Year Award was given by MEDCOM to Tiffany Dipman, Munson Army Health Center's Patient Advocate. Ms. Dipman was nominated by Munson, Regional Health Command-Central, for her selfless service to active and retired service members and their families for 2017. This is the second time Ms. Dipman has received this award.
"Ms. Dipman represents the Commander in dealing with all patient and family concerns. Her experience and knowledge of the Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) operational activities allows her to resolve countless requests for assistance in coordinating care and resolving problems, said Ms. Tracy Wooten, acting Munson Quality Manager. She unceasingly shows a positive attitude and is friendly and open with patients and staff."
Patient Advocates serve an important purpose at Munson to help patients navigate the healthcare system, secure appointments and help determine insurance coverage. They will also answer questions regarding policies, make calls to get answers to patient questions and forward feedback to the command.
"I highly recommended Ms. Dipman for this award because of her continuous efforts and contribution to the Military Healthcare System and organization as a whole," said Col. David Cassella, Commander Munson Army Health Center.
Another function of the Patient Advocates is to keep a close eye on the Joint Outpatient Experience Survey (JOES). Ms. Dipman' s passion for encouraging patients to fill out the survey so Munson can continue to improve services is one of the reasons she was nominated for this award.
The winner receives a monetary award of $2000.00 from MEDCOM, a Special Act Award, which will be presented to her in the near future.
