Major General Christian is currently assigned as the Commanding General of the 412th Theater Engineer Command, headquartered in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Major General Christian has been a Soldier for more than 35 years. He received his commission through Niagara University ROTC and entered service in the Engineer Corps in 1983.

Major General Christian has served in a variety of assignments over his extensive career. His previous assignment included serving as Commanding General of the 95th Training Division and Assistant Division Commander at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Prior to his service as the Commanding General of the 95th, he was with the 108th Training Command, which included assignments as the Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff (G3) in Charlotte, North Carolina. Prior to the 108th, he was the 4th Brigade Commander, 98th Division (IET) out of Buffalo, New York. MG Christian served as the Executive Officer and Deputy Chief of Staff (G5) for the 98th Training Division in Rochester, New York. Prior to these assignments, MG Christian's senior staff and command assignments included Battalion Executive Officer, Battalion Command, Brigade Commander, Deputy Chief of Staff. While deployed to Iraq in 2005, MG Christian served as the Senior Combat Advisor to the 3d Iraqi Infantry Brigade, 5th Infantry Division in An-Numaniyah as part of the initial ground war. Prior to his deployment, MG Christian served various staff duty positions as the Deputy Chief of Staff (G4), Battalion Executive Officer, Battalion S3, S4, S1. He has served as the Company Commander and Committee Chief for an Engineer Committee assigned to the 1st Battalion, 389th Engineer Regiment.

Major General Christian's formal military training include the Engineer Officer Basic and Advance Courses, Combined Arms and Services Staff College, Command and General Staff College, Joint Professional Military Education at the Joint Service School, and the Army War College. Major General Christian was the Distinguished Military Graduate from Niagara University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Sciences. He also holds a Masters of Arts degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College and a Masters in Science in Organizational Leadership from Regis University, Colorado.

Major General Christian's military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (7th Award), Army Commendation Medal with combat "V" device, Army Commendation Medal for service (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd Award), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (9th Award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, 18th Airborne Corps. Combat Service Badge, the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency and various other awards received throughout his career.

Major General Christian's civilian business experience spans multiple Fortune 100 companies. He has served in Information Technology and Business Management leadership positions with significant international responsibility. MG Christian currently serves as Vice President (Information Technology) for a private national transportation carrier in the United States and international territories.

Major General Christian represents the first generation of his family to have served in the military. He and his wife Donna have two sons, the oldest of which is a Company Commander in the Military Police Corps.
