Lt. Gen. Aundre Piggee, the deputy chief of staff, G-4, welcomes the new year with one of the most dynamic issues of Army Sustainment magazine. The focus is on sustaining Multi-Domain Battle, an important and timely topic for every sustainer in the Army.

In this issue, two of the highest ranking Army generals from the present and past provide useful insights into this new concept for how we will fight future wars when our forces may no longer dominate across the land, air, maritime, space, and cyberspace domains. Gen. David Perkins, who is spearheading the Army's effort to develop the Multi-Domain Battle concept, describes how it will change sustainment, and Gen. Lloyd Austin, a retired general who served as vice chief of staff of the Army and led troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, lends his 41 years of Army experience to explain how recent history can prepare the Army for Multi-Domain Battle.

From inside the sustainment community we hear from the Army's senior logistician, Gen. Gustave Perna, who writes about how sustainers must develop their fundamental Soldier skills while also harnessing technology and innovation. In this issue, you can also read perspectives from Maj. Gen. Paul Hurley, Maj. Gen. Cedric Wins, Maj. Gen. Randy Taylor, Brig. Gen. (P) Christopher Sharpsten, and Brig. Gen. David Wilson as they deal with the challenges of this new concept every day.

The most sought-after item in the magazine is always the hip-pocket guide. This issue's guide is on two-level maintenance in a Multi-Domain Battle. Download it now along with the full magazine. You can save your favorite articles. You can read it on your mobile phone, tablet, or desktop. Share it with your colleagues on your Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites.

Army Sustainment, a bimonthly publication, is prepared at the Army Logistics University and published by the Army Combined Arms Support Command at Fort Lee, Virginia, for the Department of the Army. The focus topic for the March-April 2018 issue is force projection.
