In the wee hours of Dec. 18, thousands of Soldiers and trainees from Fort Jackson waited in long lines in on post facilities and in regional travel hubs nearby. The Soldiers and trainees were processed at may location on Fort Jackson before boarding one of a 100 contracted buses to take them to meet their flights, buses and trains. Victory Block Leave, or Holiday Block Leave, is a time where the Army slows down Initial Entry Training to let Soldiers and cadre go home for the holidays. Training will start back up in early January when the troops return to their training sites.
