FORT MCPHERSON, Ga. -- As part of the U.S. Army Forces Command strategic communication strategy, a Facebook group site has been launched for FORSCOM Soldiers, family members and civilians to collaborate and communicate with each other in this digital age. Featuring news, photos, videos and a discussion board, the FORSCOM group site is a way to get involved in social media and to provide relevant and meaningful exchange outside of the workplace.
The U.S. Army Garrison also has a new Facebook group to reach its audience. Facebook has more than 175 million active users and the fastest growing user demographic consists of those older than 35. More than three billion minutes are spent on Facebook each day worldwide.
Facebook cannot be accessed on most DoD computers, although this may change in the near future. The FORSCOM group site can be found by searching "FORSCOM"; the garrison group site can be found under "Fort McPherson and Gillem," on www.facebook.com. Servicemembers, Civilian employees, Family members and friends are invited to participate.
