Adaptive sports track coach sets up athletes for success

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii - Saul Mendoza (left), Warrior games track coach prepares Jarred Vaina, U.S. Army Veteran and wounded warrior athlete, to compete in the Pacific Regional Trials wheelchair racing track event on Nov. 7, 2017 at Stoneman Field, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. The weeklong wounded warrior sports competition is Nov. 6-10 and brings together Post 9-11 wounded warriors from across the Pacific region. More than 80 wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans gather to compete in eight adaptive sporting events and for a chance to progress to the 2018 Department of Defense (DoD) Warrior Games.
