GRAFENWOEHR, Germany (Oct. 30, 2017) -- Approximately 4,050 participants from 13 nations will take part in exercise Allied Spirit VII at the 7th Army Training Command's Hohenfels Training Area in southeastern Germany, Oct. 30 to Nov. 22, 2017.

Nearly 2,340 participants will come from the United States and approximately 1,700 participants are scheduled to join from the Allied nations of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain and the United Kingdom.

In this exercise, Lithuania's "Griffin" Brigade will command the multinational brigade headquarters. Participating nations will work to improve effective and efficient communications and digital fires interoperability, while working in a multinational environment to supply the brigade headquarters with a common operating picture.

Allied Spirit is a U.S. Army Europe-directed, 7ATC-conducted multinational exercise designed to develop and enhance NATO nations' readiness and ability to work together, and is unique in its ability to provide hands-on experience and testing of secure communications.
