JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas (Oct. 13, 2017) -- Acquisition members from Mission and Installation Contracting Command executed 31,312 contract actions valued at more than $4.8 billion in support of Soldiers and their families during fiscal 2017.

Contracting members executed actions in support of Army commands, installations and activities across the service through the final hours of the fiscal year, which came to a close Sept. 30. The command also administered the Army's largest Government Purchase Card Program, managing more than 519,000 transactions valued at an additional estimated $718 million during the fiscal year.

"The MICC is committed to providing the best capabilities to fight and win today and in the future," said Col. Bill Boruff, the MICC commander. "The strength of that support is a knowledge-based workforce dedicated to our Soldiers while being fiscally responsible with taxpayer resources."

The MICC also met all five of its small-business socioeconomic goals in fiscal 2017 for the third consecutive year. The MICC Small Business Programs workforce consists of specialists around the country representing small business interests. They conduct outreach events to inform industry representatives of installation requirements to ensure their maximum opportunity to compete for Army contracts.

The MICC, which is responsible for contracting goods and services in support of Soldiers and their families, consists of about 1,500 uniformed and civilian members located at two contracting support brigades, two field directorate offices and 29 offices throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
