TACOM participates in National Cyber Security Awareness Month for October

DETROIT ARSENAL, Mich. -- October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and the U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command is highlighting the importance of cybersecurity and online safety.

TACOM is making cybersecurity an operational priority ensuring resources support training, technology and policies. They offer extensive cybersecurity training opportunities to ensure everyone knows how to best mitigate cyber risks.

During this month, TACOM's Corporate Information Office (CIO/G-6) Cyber Management Division has prepared some events that will highlight the importance of understanding "Cybersecurity in the Workplace is Everyone's Business."

This includes two guest speakers scheduled for this October about cybersecurity:

• "Vehicle Hacking and Why the Military Should Care." Scheduled on Oct. 10, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Building 200 Auditorium, Detroit Arsenal.

• "Confronting Cyber Security Threats - Cybersecurity From the FBI's Perspective." Scheduled on Oct. 17, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Building 200 Auditorium, Detroit Arsenal.

For Detroit Arsenal employees who want to attend these events please sign up through Total Employee Development (TED) and search for all events using the full course title or key word "TCAM 2017". TED can be accessed at: https://ted.csd.disa.mil/ted/TED_Main.cfm.

Also awareness materials are now available at the Detroit Arsenal in the Building 230-E hallway in front of the CIO office.
