RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany Aca,!" A new aircraft can now safely be housed and maintained by the Air Force overseas.

The C-130J Super Hercules, a comprehensive upgrade to the tried-and-true C-130 Hercules, has been in service since 1999, but until the recent completion of a new dual-bay maintenance hangar, did not have a home in Europe.

The ribbon for the hangar Aca,!" the largest on the air base - was cut as part of a widely anticipated reception ceremony April 7 during which the new Super Hercules model made a special appearance.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District oversaw the construction of the $22 million facility, which took 16 months.

This project demonstrated a unique regional approach to partner with LBB-Idar-Oberstein when conducting the A/E selection and awarding the contract, said Arcari added. Aca,!A"Together we displayed the full spectrum of engineering force, proving that we could indeed follow through with our credo of Building Strong.Aca,!A?
