(Fort Shafter, Hawaii) -- Lieutenant General Aundre F. Piggee, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4 (Army Logistics), is visiting major sustainment commands this week as part of the Army's continued efforts to increase readiness in the Pacific.
In visits with key leaders in US Army Pacific, 8th Theater Sustainment Command, 25th Infantry Division and 25th Sustainment Brigade, he is seeing first hand sustainment in action and efforts to bring today's technology to the field. The focus of their discussions centered on Chief of Staff of the Army General Mark A. Milley's number one priority: readiness.
Accompanying Lieutenant General Piggee is the G-4's Sergeant Major, Edward A. Bell. They had an opportunity to visit the 325th Brigade Support Battalion's Supply Support Activity to see how the unit is successfully using the Army's newest logistics information system, Global Combat Support System-Army. They also saw how the unit is preparing for a conversion to the common Authorized Stockage List, which will improve how the Army manages repair parts.
The Pacific trip follows similar visits by Lieutenant General Piggee to Europe and other parts of the world to ensure sustainers are ready for future contingencies.
