WARSAW, Poland -- Soldiers from the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade participated in the Polish Armed Forces Day parade, here, Aug. 15, 2015. The multi-ship fly over consisted of a UH-60 Black Hawk, a CH-47 Chinook, and an AH-64 Apache helicopter.

The parade takes place annually in Warsaw and is also a national holiday known as the Feast of the Polish Armed Forces.

The three helicopter crews trained with their Polish counterparts over the four days before the parade. Rehearsal flights took place in order to coordinate and de-conflict the airspace over the city.

The CH-47 and UH-60 belong to 1st Bn., 214th Avn. Regt., General Support Aviation (GSAB). The battalion is headquartered in Wiesbaden and the Chinook's reside in Katterbach with the sister Apache battalion.

General support aviation battalions provide lift, ambulatory and VIP transport assets to theater commanders.

The 1st Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment, (Attack Reconnaissance) provided the AH-64 Apache helicopter. Attack reconnaissance battalions provide maneuver firepower to combatant commanders in a highly mobile and effective manner.
