U.S. Army Garrison - Fort Gordon

Mr. Larsen has been an Army Civilian professional for more than 30 years and has been the Fort Gordon Director of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) since June 2016. Coming from a military family, he has always admired military service members and was provided an opportunity to serve those who serve by working for the U.S. Army FMWR. His first job with the Army was as a Recreation Specialist for the 2nd Armored Division (Forward) in Garlstedt, Germany, and spent many years with the international NATO (the North Atlantic Treaty Organization) communities in the Benelux holding positions at all levels of garrison FMWR operations as activity manager, division chief, and director, and as the Acting Deputy Garrison Commander on several occasions at previous assignments.

Mr. Larsen believes in and is passionate about the mission of Army Garrisons and understands the direct link between healthy community services, programs, partnerships, and support to service members, civilians, veterans and their family members.

He graduated from the University of Montana in 1982 and played several seasons in the German Basketball Bundesliga (professional league) before working for the Army. Mr. Larsen and his wife, Monique, have five children.

His principal duties at Fort Gordon include supporting the Commander in accomplishing the mission of overall base operations management through subordinate supervisors and key employees.
